The studio

DeepAnchor Studio LLC is a small independent software studio in the United States. It makes one product, AskScripture. There are no outside investors and no ad business: the app is paid for by the people who subscribe to it, and by nothing else.

This website runs no analytics and loads no third-party scripts. The studio does not sell user data, and shares it only with the services that process a question. What happens to a question once you ask it, and which services touch it, is written down, including the parts that are not flattering, on the privacy page.

Why AskScripture exists

I built AskScripture because I got tired of the two bad options. A general chatbot will answer any faith question fluently, and it will invent the verse reference while it does it. A devotional app will not answer the question at all. Neither is what someone wants at eleven at night with a real question and nobody to ask.

What I wanted was simple to say and hard to build: an answer that shows its work. Chapter and verse you can open. A thinker's name next to the book the idea came from. A video cued to the minute where a teacher actually addresses it. The AI's job is to draft and organise. The sources' job is to be checkable.

That is also why the app says out loud what it is. It is AI. It can be wrong. Every answer has a report button, and the app is not a replacement for your pastor or your church. I would rather lose a user to their small group than keep one by pretending to be something I am not.

How an answer is built

The verses are never written by the AI. Verse text is fetched from licensed Bible translations: NASB by default, with KJV, ASV, BSB, CEV, Douay-Rheims and more to choose from. The model drafts the answer around the verses; it does not draft the verses.

Book sources are checked before they are shown. When an answer draws on a Christian thinker, the book citation is checked against a catalog of real, published works before any link appears. Teaching videos are cued to the exact moment the teacher addresses the question, not the start of the talk.

Scripture and interpretation stay visibly separate. Pastoral guidance sits apart from the biblical text on the screen, so you always know which is which.

The same question, shaped to who is asking. A profile for yourself sets where you are in your faith and the topics on your mind. A profile for your child sets an age range and how they learn, and the answer comes back written for you to give in your own words; the child never uses the app. A profile for a friend sets where they stand, whether Christian, exploring, skeptical, or of another faith or none.

What you can check

Four pages on this site exist so that a parent, a pastor, or a journalist can check what the app does rather than take our word for it:

• The crisis protocol describes, in public, what the app does when a question suggests someone may be in danger, and what it deliberately does not attempt.
• What happens to your question traces a question from the phone to the servers and back, and declines to print any retention figure we could not verify.
• Delete your account sets out exactly what is removed, what is kept, and how long it takes.
• The press kit carries the fact sheet, boilerplate, and downloadable logo and screenshots.

In the app itself: a report button on every answer, and a consent screen before any data leaves the device. AskScripture is a study companion, not a replacement for your pastor or church.
